If you are on the Voters List, you will get a voter information letter in the mail, late September or early October. It will tell you where to vote. Bring your voter notification card and acceptable identification documents when you go to vote. If you do not get a card, contact your municipality to get on the list. You can also add your name to the Voters List on voting day.
You must be:
- A Canadian citizen (Temporary and permanent residents cannot vote); - 18 years of age or older;
- A resident of Stratford, or the owner or tenant of property in Stratford, or the spouse of the owner or tenant;
- Not prohibited from voting under any law.
- If you are homeless, or do not have a permanent home or a fixed address, you can still vote. You can vote in the area where you slept in the 5 weeks before the election.
October 12th to 22nd (8 p.m) via telephone or the internet.
New council commences December 3rd.
The Voter Information Letter will contain a telephone number needed to access the voting system. Eligible voters choosing to vote using the Telephone will dial the provided phone number and utilize their PIN, contained in the Voter Information Letter, along with their Date of Birth to enter the voting system.
The Voter Information Letter will contain the web address needed to access the voting system. Eligible voters choosing to vote using the Internet will access the web address and utilize their PIN, contained in the Voter Information Letter, along with their Date of Birth to enter the voting system.
During the voting period, voting centres will be open for eligible electors who wish to use a computer for voting. Designated staff will be at the locations to answer questions and assist electors if requested.
